Educating life safety professionals with Hochiki

The problem

The world of safety is ever-changing, with regulations being continually refined and updated. For life safety professionals, keeping abreast of these changes is crucial.

 

Hochiki Europe is a leading global manufacturer of life safety systems, so when industry legislation on Emergency Lighting (BS 5266) was updated, it was important to ensure that key stakeholders (installers, specifiers and facilities managers) were fully up to speed.

Our response

Having worked extensively with Hochiki Europe’s key audiences, we know they value quick access to industry training and knowledge, particularly CPD courses which provide tangible professional benefits.

 

Working closely with Hochiki Europe’s Emergency Lighting expert, Ian Watts, we helped deliver the industry’s first CPD-accredited webinar advising on the new legislation. The webinar format meant it was easy for anyone to join from any location and ensured a two-way conversation, so any technical questions could be answered directly. It also allowed for data capture, building Hochiki Europe’s engaged database.

 

The webinar was promoted through articles in key trade media and sponsored social media posts on LinkedIn and Twitter, targeting users with relevant interests and job titles.

 

Following the session, the recorded content was hosted permanently by Hochiki Europe online and CPD certificates were issued to attendees. The content was also used to inform thought-leadership advice pieces in top trade media titles.

Impact

Experimenting with the new CPD platform really paid off; the webinar had 200+ sign ups and more than 100 life safety professionals attended. This boosted visibility for Hochiki Europe and its expert, Ian Watts, amongst a key audience of architects, installers and facilities managers.

 

The success went beyond the webinar itself, too, as attracted a further 330 views on YouTube from a highly niche audience. The activity gained 6 pieces in coverage in key customer-facing media titles and was bolstered by two thought leadership articles in relevant trade publications.
