As headline sponsors of the Wines of the Beautiful South tasting event, Encirc had plenty of exposure but wanted to go one step further and encourage exhibitors to visit its stand, allowing the team to meet and engage with prospective customers.
With more than 300 exhibitors travelling from South Africa, Argentina and Chile to attend the event, the environmental impact was considerable. In order to promote Encirc’s sustainability credentials and create a conversation starter with potential customers, Tangerine suggested offering exhibitors the chance to offset the carbon from their journeys – by signing up to have a tree planted at Encirc’s site in Cheshire.
Targeted social media activity was used to launch the campaign, while key trade journalists were invited to plant their own trees and speak with on-stand experts about the initiative and the environmental benefits that Encirc can offer.
Tangerine also provided full event management support, including supervising the design and creation of the stand; writing and designing corporate literature; and organising branded bags for life, which were given to all exhibitors and attendees during the event.
Widespread exposure for Encirc, in terms of both press coverage and online conversations
Increased profile with prospective customers, with 80 exhibitors signing up to have a tree planted across the two days of the event
Encirc extended the offer to its existing customers, committing to creating an on-site forest of 1,500 trees to offset carbon emissions from the manufacturing and transportation processes
To open the new woodland area, Tangerine worked with Encirc to develop partnerships with local forestry commissions and organised an official opening, with local media, councillors and school children attending to plant the final 100 trees
