LOCAL SQUASH CLUB RECEIVES LICK OF PAINT FROM DULUX DECORATOR CENTRES

Kirkcaldy Squash Club has received a much needed lick of paint thanks to Dulux Decorator Centres, situated on Forth Avenue Industrial Estate, Kirkcaldy.
The club, on Bennochy Road, was established in 1972. It is a local centre for people to learn and play squash at all levels of skill and since opening, the exterior of the building has not been maintained, so was in need of a good lick of paint to brighten it up.
Volunteers from the squash club canvassed the local community to gather suggestions for the re-design of the exterior walls and asked for support with the decorating. Local scouts offered their services to paint the club and managed to completely transform its appearance.
The donation was made as part of Dulux Decorator Centres’ Colouring the Community scheme, after club secretary, Duncan Zuill, contacted the local store. The scheme aims to help local community groups and charities restore their premises and surrounding areas.
The team of volunteers used brushes, rollers and Dulux Trade paints in grey, ivory and blue as well as exterior masonry paint, all donated by Dulux Decorator Centres in Kirkcaldy, to refresh the premises.
Duncan commented: “We are extremely grateful to Dulux Decorator Centres for the generous paint donation, which has enabled us to revamp the club and make it much more attractive and inviting to the local community. We hope that by completing this transformation more people will want to visit the club and start playing squash.”
Councillor Judy Hamilton, who advised Duncan to apply for the Dulux Decorator Centres Colouring the Community Scheme added: “I am delighted to welcome this support from Dulux Decorator Centres. The squash club provides sporting and other opportunities for all ages within the community. The members of the club are working hard to not only make the building a safe and welcoming space for everyone but one that enhances the local environment. It is a fine example of a group contributing to the community and the environment.”
Bill Stott, store manager of Dulux Decorator Centres in Kirkcaldy, said: “The volunteers have done a wonderful job revamping the club house and the premises now look better than ever.”
