RUSHDEN SHOPPERS OUT IN FORCE FOR NEW LOOK WILKINSON STORE
The Wilkinson store, situated on Eaton Walk, Rushden, re-launched its re-branded image on Thursday 29th March with representatives from Rushden & Higham RUFC, who helped make the Easter themed event a sweet success.
To mark the re-opening, Rushden & Higham RUFC chairman, Dan Day, captain, Dan Sharp and club player/coach, Stuart Riding, joined Wilkinsons’ head of marketing, Fiona Gunn and store manager, Sadeeq Ghanie in cutting the ceremonial ribbon and declared the store officially re-open.
As part of Wilkinsons’ commitment to the local community, store manager, Sadeeq, presented Dan with a cheque donation for £500, which will go towards the Rushden & Higham RUFC ‘Mini and Junior’ division, which trains and supports young people in the game of rugby, from the age of five.
Children from Whitefriar Infant School delivered Easter themed posters to the store and customers were serenaded by the Alfred Street Junior School choir throughout the morning. As a thank you, both schools were presented with a voucher to spend on arts & crafts products within the store.
Continuing the Easter themed event, early bird customers received complimentary Cadbury Creme Eggs and to raise money for Age UK, Wilkinsons’ charity of the year, staff members also hosted a raffle. One lucky customer walked away with a jam packed hamper full of products from the ‘Home Decor’ range which included a cushion, vase and candles.
Sadeeq said: “Re-opening day has been a huge success. The store now looks better than ever, especially with all the colourful posters from the children at Whitefriar Infant School on display. We’ve already received some fantastic compliments from our customers about the bright, modern design, and easy to navigate new layout.
“I would like to thank all our guests for coming along today and helping us with the re-opening. They have really got everyone in the celebratory spirit.”
Dan Day said: “It has been a pleasure joining Wilkinsons today as the store unveiled its rebranded image and I am extremely grateful for the donation to the Rushden & Higham RUFC ‘Mini and Junior’ division.”
The celebrations will continue on Saturday 31st March when a selection of free cakes and pastries, including Easter chocolate nests, bunny biscuits and hot cross buns, will be handed out to the first 50 customers to walk through the door. A free face painter will be transforming children into fun characters from 10am until 4pm and continuing the Easter theme, shoppers can also take part in a game of ‘Pin the Tail on the Bunny,’ to raise money for Age UK.
