GORTON RESIDENT DRIVES HER WAY THROUGH THE RANKS
Former bus driver Louise Atkinson, has been appointed as Assistant Operations Manager by leading bus service provider, Stagecoach Manchester.
Louise, from Gorton, who formally took up her new role on Monday 19th March, has worked for the Stagecoach Group for over six years, including three years behind the wheel as a bus driver, in both Cumbria and Manchester. Louise also held the role of Depot Inspector at the former Princess Road site, before being promoted to Allocation Manager for Stagecoach Manchester at its Ashton depot.
Now based at Stagecoach Manchester’s largest depot at Hyde Road, Ardwick, she will be responsible for assisting the management team and supporting the 450 full and part-time drivers that work at the depot to maintain high levels of customer service and ensure that the operations run efficiently.
Louise commented: “From being a driver to organising bus schedules, I have experience in a variety of areas, which gives me an in-depth understanding of the workings of the buses and the depots. With this knowledge, I will support the team and endeavour to continue to improve and grow the services that we offer to our customers.”
