F.PEART & CO APPEALS TO HARTLEPOOL COMMUNITY TO HELP NAME NEW OIL TANKERS
F. Peart & Co, which is based in Hartlepool and is a key distributor of heating oils and fuels across the North East, is appealing to the local community in Hartlepool to help name a new fleet of eight oil tankers.
Laura Jackson, business manager at F. Peart & Co, added: “Following in the footsteps of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends, we are looking to name our new fleet of oil tankers and we are appealing to the local public and local school children to help us do this.
“The public has the opportunity to name one tanker and local schools will have the opportunity to name the remaining seven. The eight winning names will then be printed onto the tankers permanently and these will be seen driving across the North East as we deliver oil to our customers.”
As well as the naming of the tankers, there are a series of prizes up for grabs – the public winner will receive an Xbox Kinect 360 and in the schools competition there will be an overall prize for the best name, which will be a brand new laptop for the child’s school. Six runner-up schools will also receive a £50 book token each.
Laura added: “F. Peart & Co is a company which understands the importance of helping the local community and giving something back. In 2011 we ran a bursary scheme which provided £5,000 in donations to local causes and in 2012 we want to continue working with the community, which is why we are now launching the ‘Name the Tanker’ competition and providing local people with the chance to win some great prizes.”
For further information and to enter the competition, the public should visit www.fpeart.co.uk/nameatanker and schools should visit www.fpeart.co.uk/nameatankerschool. The closing date for entries is Tuesday 28 February 2012 and winners will be announced w/c 12 March 2012. Terms & conditions do apply.
