Tangerine rolls out the red carpet for Manchester Film Festival
Leading integrated communications consultancy, Tangerine, has been appointed by The Film Mill LTD to launch Manchester’s first ever Film Festival (ManIFF), delivering a programme of strategic international and national media engagement.
The festival will take place on 10th, 11th and 12th July 2015 at the AMC 16 screen cinema in the iconic Great Northern Warehouse and aims to become a world leader within the international film making community. ManIFF’s objective is to champion great story telling which translates brilliantly onto screen. Up-and-coming writers, directors and producers, along with established industry professionals and film lovers will all be invited to celebrate the best independent cinema from around the world.
The festival will show the UK premieres of ‘Two Down’ Exec-produced by Stephen Fry and Sir Derek Jacobi and the world premiere of Hisao Kurosawa’s ‘Many Beautiful Things’ featuring Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery and Indiana Jones’ John Rhys- Davies. Tangerine will be working with ManIFF to establish and raise awareness of these highly anticipated feature films, along with all of the other great films showing, driving footfall to the festival over the three days.
The consultancy will lead a strategic programme of global media relations to introduce the film world, key influencers and those passionate about film to the festival, with the aim of putting it firmly on the map as one of the UK’s leading film festivals.
Mary Harding, consumer managing director at Tangerine, said: “Our team is highly experienced in global media relations and connecting with global audiences.
“Manchester Film Festival is brand new to the city and it’s really exciting to be working with the extremely ambitious team from The Film Mill LTD on an event like this, one that is going to just grow year on year.”
Speaking about the appointment, Neil Jeram-Croft, managing director of The Film Mill LTD and director of operations at ManIFF, said: “We want ManIFF to become a ‘must go to’ annual event in the film making calendar, one which showcases strong and inventive film-making.
“In order to do this, it’s essential to get it spot on this year so we had to have the right agency partner to help us maximise exposure of all the great films and talent we have at the festival in July. Tangerine’s knowledge of the global media, combined with their genuine passion and creativity, means they couldn’t be a better addition to the team.”
