Tangerine Named Top Ten Communications Apprenticeship Employer

Leading integrated communications consultancy, Tangerine, has been named one of the top ten apprenticeship employers in the ‘Media, Tech and Communication’ sector, and one of the top 50 employers of young people in the UK.

The news was revealed in the Top Apprenticeship Careers List, which was published in the Sunday Telegraph over the weekend and aims to highlight the best employers of apprentices across the UK. The annual guide is compiled by Square Peg Media in association with the Daily Telegraph, with employers assessed by an independent panel of judges, including Angela Eagle MP and Sharon Warpole, CEO of Not Going to Uni.

Tangerine has been listed for its work creating The Juice Academy. Established in 2013, The Juice Academy is the UK’s first industry-led social media apprenticeship scheme, which aims to train the next generation of digital marketing professionals through work placements with employers, including JW Lees, Pets at Home, BJL, Footy Accumulators and Greater Manchester Police. To date, Tangerine has created job opportunities for over 100 young people through The Juice Academy and itself employs a number of current and former apprentices.

Speaking about the accolade, Sandy Lindsay, Tangerine’s founder and chair, explained: “We launched The Juice Academy to create much needed openings into our sector for young people, nurturing the digital talent of the future and closing the skills gap in all areas of commercial social media. It is very rewarding to be ranked alongside not just some of the most impressive businesses in our sector, but the country as a whole.”

The Juice Academy also announced last week that it had secured funding from Creative Skillset to launch the first ever graduate version of its multi award-winning social media apprenticeship, which is now open to applications from both employers and graduates.
