What to see at Cannes 2016
The 2016 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity kicks off tomorrow. Attracting the great and the good of the global creative community, the action packed eight days promise to educate, challenge and inspire.
Here’s our lowdown on what to see and do:
Brand new for 2016 the two day event will explore the ways talent and storytelling can elevate content into the mainstream. With diverse talks from actor Channing Tatum, Justin Bieber hit-maker, Jason ‘Poo Bear’ Boyd, and companies including The Walt Disney Company and WWE, it’s bound to prove popular.
Wake up with The Economist
Join The Economist each morning for an insightful panel discussion involving three of the world’s leading marketers. This year’s speakers include Jonathan Mildenhall, CMO at Airbnb and PepsiCo CMO Seth Kaufman.
For those wanting a more energetic start to the day hit the beach for a CrossFit-style workout. Part of the Fringe festival, sessions will take place outside the Oracle Data Cloud Live Tent in front of the Palais and participants will receive protein shake water bottles and ‘Data is the new bacon’ t-shirts – what’s not to love!
Lions Innovation Discovery Stage
Find out what’s next in tech, with networking and live demos at this unique showcase of ground-breaking start-ups and collaborations.
Admittedly you don’t have to search far to find interesting speakers at Cannes – Burberry’s CEO and Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey, will be chatting with Anna Wintour, speakers from Google, Airbnb and even Playboy Fragrances will be there – it’s an impressive who’s who. But, there’s no doubt the crowds will be drawn to Will. Speaking about balancing creative fulfilment and a focus on impactful endeavours beyond the world of entertainment, it’s an unrepeatable opportunity to hear directly from one of the world’s most famous men.
Cannes Lions runs from 18th – 25th June, for more information visit the website.
