Ecobuild Builds On Relationship With Tangerine For Second Year Running
ecobuild, the foremost event for the construction industry, has re-appointed Tangerine to handle communications activity for its 2018 show.
After successfully running the media relations campaign for the event in 2017, Futurebuild Events Ltd, the new owners of ecobuild, have renewed the relationship with Tangerine and broadened its scope to include social media support.
Tangerine’s appointment for a second year comes at a crucial moment for the event, following its acquisition by Futurebuild Events in March 2017. Futurebuild Events was set up Martin Hurn who spent the last five years running Ecobuild with former owners UBM.
Commenting on the appointment, Martin Hurn, MD of Futurebuild Events, said: “Under our new management ecobuild is going to be different and we want next year’s event to be unlike any other trade show.
“To do this and to put on an event like ecobuild is no mean feat, so we need to work with partners that get our vision and can help us be fresh and bolder in our communications too.
“While we’re in initial stages of planning our 2018 event, Tangerine has already pushed us to be braver in how we communicate and find our new identity and voice in the construction event marketplace. This fresh thinking and creativity, plus the team’s experience and connections within the built environment mean they are perfect partner to help take us forward.”
Tangerine ran a successful campaign for ecobuild 2017 that saw the consultancy secure a wealth of media coverage ranging from high-level thought leadership content, to appearances in The Sun. The consultancy also attracted mainstream media interest in the show from the likes of the New York Times and the BBC.
“For next year’s event, we’re looking to build on what we achieved in 2017 for ecobuild but build on it with richer, more engaging social media content that really captures the attention of construction industry professionals and journalists alike,” said Barry Maginn, senior account director at Tangerine.
“Ecobuild 2018 will be something very new for the construction industry and we’re excited and proud to be a part of it.”
